We were asked to design and fabricate a new conference table for local company Innovative Print Management. The design utilized reclaimed tractor trailer floor boards, steel flat bar, and steel tubing. Keeping things minimal the steel straps recess into the glued up tabletop and wrap down to the floor. Simple steel tubing cross bars tie the piece together and serve as a lower footrest for the counter height table. It's perfect for barstools and at 8'x 30" it is plenty of space for a small group to gather around.
We were also tasked with providing barstools for a new Bar/Restaurant/Music venue/all-around-great-place, Proof & Cooper, a new concept from our friends who own The BlackHeart Bar and Bar 2211 in Austin. Working with reclaimed longleaf pine, some of which still had paint or wallpaper on it, we crafted some comfy and rustic seats, combining rectangular steel tubing with reclaimed wood.
Some front door pulls were needed for the joint as well. In keeping with the aesthetic we found some old plowshares and transformed them into "everything is bigger in Texas" doorpulls.
Waterjet cut steel signage was needed at Bar Twenty Two Eleven so we provided that as well.
In other bar-related work, we were asked by our friend Justin Elliot to fabricate and install a simple yet elegant guardrail at Congress' newest cocktail powerhouse The Townsend.
Forged 1" x 2" steel bar swoops from the wall to the floor and further defines the front sitting area from the entrance ramp.
