We've had all sorts of interest in our shipping container based food trailers, but sometimes we need to come up with lighter, smaller, and easier to set-up solutions than the la Boîtes and sushiBOXES of the world. We were approached by an up and coming and well recieved local restaurant to design a mobile presence for them. The design we came up speaks to their ethos of simplicity and clean lines. The material pallete chosen is a direct riff on their existing small restaurant and would serve as a great mobile billboard for their quickly growing culinary presence in town. Sadly, to date the project has yet to move forward, and hopefully it will soon, as there are no shortages of folks who would line up down the block to eat their food from a well sited trailer.
In the end it has been a very good exercise in design and costing for a fully kitted out kitchen on wheels. From the looks of it and the thourough calculations we went through in the costing exercise, we could build out a similar trailer for $32K plus the cost of appliances (dependent of course upon menu and service style desired.) You know you want one...
Thanks for sharing your info. I really appreciate your
efforts and I am waiting for your further write ups
thanks once again.
